No worries, it’s a quick one

Hey There,

You decided to quit Medium because you got enough clout and followers here to start a more lucrative business elsewhere. (Good for you).

You’ll come back from time to time, at least every six months, to make sure your old stories are still under the Medium Partner Program and earning you some $$$.

Before you go, you’ll write a philosophical essay (rant) about your ups (before) and downs (now) on the platform.

You’ll mention how sad it is that people are reading what they want instead of your stories.

You’ll go as far as saying that what people want to read is shitty writing and/or uninteresting topics. Of course, you’ll emphasize that this philosophical essay of yours (shitty written rant) is ironically fully in line with one of the uninteresting topics you despise so much (and keep on reading). But it will be OK because you wrote it.

You’ll also mention that new writers are all writing about the same topics and trying to make money instead of writing for the love of the art. You’ll fail to mention that these were your favorite topics at the beginning (and still are). You’ll also fail to mention they brought you a shitload of money…

One day I will stop writing on Medium. Read my stories while you can.
