I don’t think one gets more kudos or coins if your right thumb moves ten times. On desktop you can click once and keep the button pressed down and the claps go up by themselves.

But maybe a bit of an un-official protocol. Some writers would say that one should always give 50 claps. Some will say that if some article is at X91 claps then you give at least the 9 needed to go to the next hundred. And some don’t care! :D
