  • What should I do for a better (dating) life?
  • Learn how to cook!

The saying goes that a woman thinking of conquering a man’s heart through his stomach is aiming too high. However, men might be aiming just right! Learning how to cook is an excellent piece of advice for anyone on Tinder, especially men, for three reasons:

First, dinner at home is cheaper than a night out! Reducing your costs of living is always a good idea (gotta get something on this savings plan of yours, right?). And think of all the gifts you’ll be able to buy for your date — soon to be a partner — with all these economies! Actually, you might even get one yourself, a thank you gift is always a nice touch when invited for dinner.

Second, but foremost, you’ve just found yourself a perfect reason to invite your match for an evening at your place. You’ll be in a known environment making you more confident and easy-going. Your date, on the contrary, could be a bit tensed. That’s good! A tensed date is an easier prey to get your claws into! Tiger! Truth be told, it’s good to have a bit of power. Remember Oscar Wilde: «Everything in the world is about sex except sex. Sex is about power.»

Half-joking apart, if they’re tensed, it will give you an opportunity to make them feel relaxed, sending cool safety vibes to their reptilian brain… That’s how intimacy starts! And your date will be more than happy to get to know more about you, maybe they’ll have the chance to explore a bit when you’re busy with the oven. Let them have this thrill of the forbidden, and don’t forget to leave some «secrets» on display! Or is that too manipulative?

Not to mention that it’s much easier to «come up for a last drink» when you’re already up there! The couch is never too far from the dinner table…

The third and final reason, should you eventually stay single, you’ll at least be able to feed yourself decently! Invite some friends, show off a bit, share with them the joy of a good homemade meal, boost your oxytocin levels, and get back in the game!
