I can relate regaring the greener pastures. I guess this experience of mine is similar to yours:

A new platform is exciting at the beginning. There’s the attraction of the novelty. And the numbers go up very fast, because from 0 to 1 it’s an infinite growth. And from 1 to 2 it’s still two times more than before. But rapidly it becomes harder.

That’s where the “money/fun/flow/no pain no gain” is. But it’s hard. So sometimes we prefer to go somewhere else for the novelty boost. But staying and trying harder, I think it’s more satisfying in the end.
