I guess technically Medium wouldn’t really care, they would take their commission on both the accounts. It would be like giving them free money.

Reading a long time or just a few minutes each month wouldn’t make a difference. The maximum amount would be $5 (minus Medium commission). Medium redistributes the money on a member basis as far as I know.
