I think the algorithm would see 50 claps as a good signal if it’s exceptional. If someone always claps 50, the algo will understand it differently.
I agree with your 3rd point. It’s usually a good sign when articles with several thousands of claps. Better is the number of clappers from my experience, but it’s not so easily visible.
