I see parallels with substack. If you want to make money from Twitter you need to have a clear vision/direction/niche. Generalist stuff won't work there IMO. (maybe if it's NYT journalism level)

Funny enough, I would think it's easier to be a generalist on Medium, because making money here is more about getting viral stuff or not. And less about engagement from your followers.

Also, one can create several publications and have several niches on Medium.
