For the sake of argument, British Royal family gives a certain aura to the UK. Some glamour for many. It's not tangible and doesn't mean people come to see them, but you could argue it's good for tourism.

Also, people all over the world talk a lot about them. That's free publicity for the UK. It keeps the country in people's minds.
