That would really be too easy to game IMO. "Real" readers don't clap or clap once. Only writers clap 50.

The new system is already rewarding engagement way too much in my opinion. You can have literally thousands of readers and if they don't engage, you will earn the same money as a story read only by 100 writers who do all the right engagement...
