As I understand, Medium wants us to “write quality articles that Medium wants to boost.”

That’s assuming you want to make money on the platform.

You can also write whatever you want, interact the way you want, and that’s OK. But you won’t get much money from it and your reads won’t earn much to the writers you read.

If you want your reading time to earn a lot of money to the writers you read, then you should engage rarely. Only if you think the piece is exceptional. If you comment all the time, Medium (from my understanding of Tony’s comment) won’t reward the writers as they did in August.
